Oscilloscope Probes

There are four oscilloscope probes that may be attached to any contact. Probes are created by using the Create Oscilloscope Probe option of the Simulation menu, by selecting the toolbar shortcut , or by using the Right-Click context menu of a contact.

The probes are assigned in order of the next available probe. Once a probe has been created, moving the mouse will allow you to select a contact to connect the probe to. Valid contacts will be highlighted as the probe is moved over the circuit. When the probe tip has been placed over a valid contact, clicking the left mouse button will attach the probe to the selected node. If you don’t want to place the new probe after selecting it, the action can be cancelled by pressing the ESC key.

A probe that has been placed in the circuit can be moved by placing the cursor over the probe and doing a click and drag operation using the left mouse button. If the left-mouse button is released when the probe tip is over a valid wiring site, the probe will be attached there. If the left mouse button is released when the probe tip is not over a valid wiring site, the probe will return to it’s original location.

If you place the cursor over a probe that is attached to a contact, then double-clicking with the left mouse button will bring up the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope is also displayed at the end of each simulation run.
